Medical Representative – Market
Looking for an Enthusiastic, Efficient & Trustworthy Medical Representative – Market for a Leading MNC “Ronak Empire” for Angola, Africa
Role Objective
To develop and grow company business in the assigned territory by promoting company brands an products, generating order-based sales from trade channels and small clinics, and managing junior local field staff to ensure complete area coverage, higher bill value, stronger client relationships, and development of new and large customers.
Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
1.Market Coverage & Trade Development
Visit and develop:
- Sub-distributors, Dealers and sub-dealers, Retail pharmacies
- Small clinics only
- Ensure regular market presence and strong trade relationships
- Identify gaps in coverage and take corrective action
2.Territory, Division & Province Management
Take ownership of assigned:
- Territory
- Division
- Province
- Ensure planned and systematic coverage as per approved tour plans
- Ensure no key area or customer is left uncovered
3.Brand & Product Promotion
Promote company brands and product range as per approved positioning.
Educate customers on:
- Product usage relevance
- Focus and fast-moving products
- Availability through company depots
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging
4.Order Generation & Business Growth (Core Responsibility)
- Generate order-based sales only
Focus on:
- Increasing bill value per customer
- Increasing order frequency
- Cross-selling company products
- Collect and confirm purchase orders / indents
- Route all orders strictly through depot/store
- No authority to issue stock, raise invoices, or commit unauthorized pricing
5.Small Clinic Business Development
Develop and strengthen relationships with:
- Small clinic owners
- Practitioners operating clinics
- Promote clinic-relevant products
- Convert clinic demand into depot-routed orders
6.Coordination with Depot / Store
Coordinate with depot team for:
- Stock availability
- Approved pricing
- Dispatch schedules
- Ensure smooth order execution
- Prevent unbilled or informal stock movement
7.Distribution Truck Accompaniment (Controlled Role)
Accompany company distribution trucks when required for:
- Route-based coverage
- Customer visits during deliveries
- Strengthening relationships
- Ensure all goods are pre-billed or properly documented
- No stock custody, control, or cash handling
8.Customer Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers. Act as first point of contact for:
- Order-related queries
- Delivery coordination
- Service issues
- Escalate unresolved matters appropriately
9.Market Intelligence & Feedback
- Gather and share information on:
- Competitor products
- Pricing trends
- Market demand patterns
- Identify new business opportunities
10.Junior Local Team Management
- Manage and guide junior local field staff
- Allocate areas and routes to ensure:
- Complete pharmacy and clinic coverage
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline
- Coach juniors on effective market execution
11.Joint Working & Productivity Improvement
Conduct joint field visits with junior team members to:
- Strengthen existing client relationships
- Increase bill value per customer
- Develop new and high-potential clients
- Provide on-the-job training and feedback
12.Clinic Business Development & Prescription Generation
- Develop and strengthen relationships with:
- Clinic owners
- Practitioners operating clinics
- Promote company products
- Generate prescriptions from clinics
- Build brand preference at clinic level
- Special focus to be given on:
- Slow-moving articles
- Focused / priority products as communicated by management
- Ensure prescriptions generated translate into:
- Demand at nearby retail pharmacies
- Orders routed through depot-controlled billing and supply
- Collect feedback from clinics on product performance and acceptance
- New Point – Prescription Conversion & Focus Product Execution
13.Prescription Conversion & Focus Product Execution
Ensure prescriptions generated from clinics are:
- Actively followed up with retail pharmacies in the territory
- Converted into actual sales orders
Work closely with trade partners to ensure:
- Availability of prescribed products
- Proper visibility of focus and slow-moving articles
Track and improve:
- Prescription-to-sale conversion
- Performance of focus products
- Report gaps and challenges in conversion to the reporting manager
14.Development of New & Large Customers
Identify and develop:
- High-volume pharmacies
- Key distributors
- Growth-oriented clinics
- Focus on increasing long-term share of business
15.Appointment & Development of Field Team
Support management in:
- Identifying and appointing local field staff
- Training new recruits on products, SOPs, and territory discipline
- Build a stable and reliable field team
16.Discipline, Ethics & Compliance
- Follow company SOPs and ethical guidelines
- Prevent unauthorized commitments or price deviations
- Maintain confidentiality of pricing, customers, and company data
17.Reporting & Documentation
Maintain and submit:
- Daily visit and activity reports
- Order pipeline reports
- Territory performance summaries
Report junior team performance and field issues

PREFERRED CANDIDATE
- Must learn Portuguese within three months after joining
- Already In / Ready to relocate – Angola
- Extensive knowledge & experience of Pharma & FMCG Products.
- Work Experience in Angola is Preferred
