Product Overview:

CAPTORON-25® is an oral antihypertensive medication containing Captopril, a potent Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitor used in the management of high blood pressure and heart failure. Each uncoated tablet delivers 25 mg of Captopril, offering rapid onset of action and effective control of blood pressure. It works by relaxing blood vessels, reducing cardiac workload, and improving overall cardiovascular function. CAPTORON-25® is often used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives and diuretics.

Side Effects

    • Mild to moderate hypertension
    • Congestive heart failure (CHF)
    • Left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction
    • Diabetic nephropathy (in insulin-dependent diabetes)

  • To be taken under strict medical supervision.

  • Initial dose (Adults): 12.5–25 mg two to three times daily.

  • Maintenance dose: Adjusted as per blood pressure response or cardiac function.

  • Best taken one hour before meals for optimal absorption.

  • Tablet may be split using break line if half-dose is prescribed.

  • Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

    • Not recommended in patients with history of angioedema
    • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or electrolyte imbalances
    • Monitor potassium levels and renal function regularly during therapy
    • Avoid concurrent use with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements
    • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Dry, persistent cough

  • Dizziness or hypotension (especially after first dose)

  • Elevated potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

  • Loss of taste (dysgeusia)

  • Rash or rare angioedema
