Product Overview:

ERYTHRONAK® is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic containing Erythromycin Stearate, equivalent to 250 mg of Erythromycin per film-coated tablet. It is widely used for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, skin conditions, and sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible bacterial strains. ERYTHRONAK® offers a well-established safety profile and is an ideal option for patients allergic to penicillins. Its film-coated form ensures ease of swallowing and reduced gastric irritation.

Side Effects

    • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis)
    • Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., impetigo, acne)
    • Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia, gonorrhoea)
    • Whooping cough (pertussis)
    • Prophylaxis of rheumatic fever in penicillin-allergic patients

  • To be used under medical supervision.

  • Adults: 250–500 mg every 6 hours or as prescribed

  • Children: Dosage adjusted based on body weight (typically 30–50 mg/kg/day in divided doses)

  • Should be taken before meals for better absorption

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew

  • Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

    • Use with caution in patients with liver disfunction
    • Avoid use in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation or arrhythmia
    • May interact with other drugs metabolized via the liver (e.g., theophylline, warfarin)
    • Not to be used in neonates without strict medical advice due to risk of pyloric stenosis
    • Complete full course of therapy to prevent antibiotic resistance

  • Gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain)

  • Mild diarrhoea or cramping

  • Skin rash or allergic reaction

  • Transient hearing loss with high doses or prolonged use

  • Liver enzyme alterations (rare)
