100% medical-grade silicone for superior biocompatibility, reduced risk of latex allergy reactions, and suitability for long-term indwelling use.
5 ml; balloon inflated with sterile water to secure catheter in position inside the bladder after percutaneous insertion.
Sterile – sterilised by Ethylene Oxide (EO); non-pyrogenic; single use only.
5 years from date of manufacture
Store at room temperature (15–30°C); protect from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat; do not re-sterilise.
CE Marked; complies with ISO 10555; BIS certified; single use medical device.
Percutaneous insertion design with trocar/introducer compatibility; self-retaining balloon secures catheter in bladder; large lateral drainage eyelets for efficient urine flow; smooth rounded tip minimises tissue trauma during insertion; radio-opaque line for X-ray visualisation.
For single use only; do not re-use or re-sterilise; insert only after bladder is confirmed full and adequately visualised (ultrasonography recommended); do not overinflate balloon beyond recommended volume; use with caution in patients with suspected pelvic adhesions, empty bladder, or prior lower abdominal surgery.
Used when urethral catheterisation is contraindicated or not possible — such as in cases of urethral injury, urethral stricture, bladder neck obstruction, or failed urethral catheterisation — the suprapubic route provides a safe and effective alternative for bladder drainage.
Used after urological, gynaecological, or lower abdominal surgeries to decompress the bladder, monitor urine output, and allow the urethra or surgical site to heal without interference from a transurethral catheter.
Preferred for patients requiring prolonged indwelling catheterisation due to neurogenic bladder, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, or pelvic organ prolapse, as it reduces the risk of urethral trauma and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) compared to urethral catheters.
The smaller sizes (FR 10, FR 12, FR 14) make this catheter appropriate for paediatric patients requiring suprapubic bladder drainage, where standard adult-sized urethral catheters are not suitable.
